A 1-year-old Antioch boy who suffered fatal injuries in a rollover crash in Oakley on Jan. 13 has been identified today by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau as Daniel Romero.
The crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. at the intersection of East Cypress Road and Frank Hengle Way. Police suspect that his mother was driving drunk, Oakley police Chief Chris Thorsen said.
The child was airlifted to Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland where he succumbed to his head injury Saturday.
Police said the incident is still under investigation and could not confirm whether the mother would be facing criminal charges.
