Health conscious residents in Santa Clara County will have the opportunity to learn tips and strategies to improve their health in a series of presentations set to kick off today.

“These health presentations will be very useful to adults in our community, from those who have specific health concerns, to those who have the additional responsibility of aging parents or family members,” Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors President Liz Kniss said in a statement.

The series is being offered by the Santa Clara County Library Administration in partnership with PlaneTree Health Library and is being funded by the California State Library and a “Fit for Life” award from the MetLife Foundation.

The first in a series of four presentations will be launched at 7 p.m. today at the Milpitas Library, located at 160 North Main St. The presentation will focus on “Ayurvedic Medicine.”

A lecture on cost-effective methods to prevent falls and make homes senior-friendly will be held at the Morgan Hill Library on June 24. The last two presentations will focus on exercise tips on June 27 at the Cupertino Community Hall and again on July 30 at the Saratoga Library.
