San Jose police today are investigating the shooting death of a man at a restaurant late Tuesday night.
A patrol officer responded to the shooting at about 10:45 p.m. and was told someone had been injured in Bun Rieu Number One, a restaurant located at 2108 Story Road, police said.
The officer discovered a 25-year-old patron at the restaurant had been shot several times, according to San Jose police Officer Jermaine Thomas.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he died.
Thomas said it is unlikely that the shooting was incited by a robbery attempt. It is possible, he said, that the victim was targeted. The restaurant was filled with numerous diners, but no one else was injured.
No arrests have been made, Thomas said.
Police are working to determine how many suspects were involved and whether the suspects were dining at the restaurant prior to the shooting.
