A man fatally shot by San Jose police on Sunday after he allegedly refused to drop a knife he was holding has been identified as 27-year-old San Jose resident Daniel Pham, a police spokesman said today.
Officers responded at about 11:35 a.m. to a report of a family disturbance in the 900 block of Branbury Way where a 29-year-old man had reportedly been stabbed.
Arriving officers confronted Pham, who was believed to have been involved in the disturbance. He was holding a knife and ignored officers when they ordered him to drop it, police said.
At least one of the officers shot Pham when he allegedly charged at them with the knife, according to police.
Pham was pronounced dead at the home.
