A man was arrested early this morning in connection with an armed robbery at a motel in Petaluma Saturday night, Petaluma police said.
Officers responded to the robbery around 9:50 p.m. Saturday at the Quality Inn at 5100 Montero Way.
The victim reported she was trying to enter the hallway outside her hotel room when a man dressed in dark clothing grabbed her, pointed a knife at her and demanded money, police said.
The victim gave an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, who fled in a Toyota Camry.
A patrol officer spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s car on Ely Road and pulled it over. The driver, Flyn Austin Nicol, was taken into custody and allegedly confessed to the crime, police said.
Nicol was booked into Sonoma County jail in lieu of $40,000 bail.
