A gymnastics coach from Modesto will be arraigned in Santa Clara County Superior Court today on charges of molesting a 17-year-old girl in San Jose during a gymnastics competition in June.
Modesto police arrested Sean Gilham on Tuesday following an investigation into an incident on June 24 involving a female gymnast from Modesto.
According to police, Gilham is accused of following the girl into her hotel room, blocking her way and then molesting her. She eventually convinced him to stop.
He is charged with one count of felony false imprisonment and one count of misdemeanor annoying or molesting a child.
Police believe that the victim has experienced similar incidents at Gilham’s gym in Modesto over the last year.
The investigation also revealed there may be additional victims in Modesto.
The San Jose Police Department’s Child Exploitation Detail/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force assisted in the investigation.
