Police are investigating a robbery at a Shell gas station in Gilroy committed early this morning.
The robbery occurred at about 2:30 a.m. at 850 Pacheco Pass Highway, according to police.
The suspect, who remains at large, entered the business and demanded money from the clerk, a 68-year-old man, police officials said.
When the clerk struggled with the suspect, he grabbed him and stole his cell phone.
The suspect left the business without taking any cash, police said, and the clerk was not injured during the robbery.
The suspect was described as a white man in his early 20s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing between 130 and 140 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black coat, and blue jeans.
