Two teenage boys arrested this week in connection with a July fire that caused $10 million in damage to San Jose’s Trace Elementary School have been charged as adults and will be arraigned this afternoon, according to district attorney’s spokeswoman Amy Cornell.

The boys have been identified as Lazarus Reavallez, 16, and Kliefert Guiang, 17, both of San Jose.

They have each been charged with one count of aggravated arson where property damage and other losses exceed $6.5 million.

If convicted as charged, the teens could face 10 years to life in prison, Cornell said.

They will be arraigned at 2 p.m. today at the Hall of Justice in San Jose.

Following the arraignment, District Attorney Dolores Carr is expected to comment on the case.
