Police are reminding residents to be cautious when answering the door in the wake of a report that a man claiming to be a plumber attempted to enter a woman’s home in Morgan Hill Sunday night.
Morgan Hill police said a resident in the area of La Crosse and La Alameda drives heard a knock on her front door at approximately 9 p.m. from a man claiming to be on a plumbing service call from Roto-Rooter.
After noticing a white van in her driveway with the lights on, the woman told the suspect he had the wrong house, prompting him to leave, police said.
Roto-Rooter reported that they had no service calls in the area at that time and their only plain white van was still locked inside their service facility, police said.
Anyone with information about this incident or other similar incidents is encouraged to call Detective Kevin Beilmann at (408) 779-2101.
