The Marin County Sheriff’s Office is searching today for a 72-year-old woman who went missing from a care home facility in Mill Valley Monday evening.
Elizabeth Harrison, who also goes by the name Betsy, was last seen leaving The Redwoods at 40 Camino Alto, Lt. Doug Pittman said.
Harrison is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and 160 pounds. She has shoulder-length gray hair and was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket and shoes and possibly blue pants and or jeans. She was reportedly seen carrying a flashlight, Pittman said.
An active search has been initiated in Marin County led by Mill Valley Police Department, Marin County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue and Southern Marin Fire Department. Police have sent a helicopter and search dogs to the area to assist with the search.
Pittman said there is a concern for Harrison’s welfare. Anyone with information regarding Harrison’s whereabouts is advised to call Pittman at (415) 747-2191.
