San Jose City Hall and most city offices and libraries will be closed Monday in observance of Independence Day.

Police and fire departments will remain open, and garbage and recycling pickup will continue as scheduled.

The city’s customer contact center will not be open, but an answering machine will provide residents with information and assistance.

Residents are advised to check with their local community centers for hours of operation. Contact information for the community centers can be found at www.sanjoseca.gov/prns or in the citywide activity guide.

Residents with questions about billing or garbage service accounts should call the city’s customer contact center on Tuesday at (408) 535-3500.

A drop box at the entrance of City Hall near Sixth and Santa Clara streets will be available on Monday for bill payments.
