Santa Cruz County sheriff’s detectives today arrested the roommate of a man whose body was found Tuesday morning in the Soquel area of Santa Cruz County.

Louis Nicholas “Nick” Kusalich, 49, was arrested in connection with the murder of 51-year-old Robert Burr.

Burr was found in a wooded area off of Laurel Glen Road, sheriff’s officials said.

Investigators believe that sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, Kusalich killed Burr at a home the two shared on Koopmans Avenue in Live Oak and then took Burr to the spot where his body was discovered.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the motive behind the killing.
