Monterey County sheriff’s deputies arrested a teenager in connection with a shooting outside a mobile home park in King City late Thursday night, according to the Monterey Count Sheriff’s Office.

A resident of the mobile home park in the 51000 block of Pine Canyon reported that their home had been shot at multiple times around 11:40 p.m., according to sheriff’s Cmdr. Mike Richards.

Minutes later, deputies patrolling the area saw a blue 1993 Acura Integra parked in front of the home with its lights turned off and a man sitting in the driver’s seat. As they approached, two men standing by the car took off running, Richards said.

Deputies arrested the man after determining the shotgun in his possession was the same one used in the shooting, Richards said.

The suspect was identified as 19-year-old King City resident Joseph Pineda. He was booked on attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a felony charges.

The other two suspects are at-large.

The shooting is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office at (831) 755-3722.
