Orinda police are searching for a man who robbed First Republic Bank in the city Saturday afternoon.
The robbery was reported at about 1:30 p.m. at the bank at 224 Brookwood Road, according to the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect allegedly handed a teller a note demanding money, Lt. George Wright said. He indicated he had a weapon, but none was seen.
No one was injured during the robbery.
The suspect is described as a black man between 40-50 years old, standing at 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was seen wearing a hat with a bill and a bright green fluorescent reflective vest over a black jacket.
He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen in the area of Camino Pablo at Brookwood Road, Wright said.
