Sheriff’s office identifies homicide victim

A man whose body was found Tuesday morning in the Soquel area of Santa Cruz County has been identified as 51-year-old Robert Burr, according to the sheriff’s office.

Burr’s body was found in a wooded area off of Laurel Glen Road, sheriff’s officials said. Detectives believe Burr was murdered.

Investigators found evidence indicating that Burr was killed at his home on Koopmans Avenue in Live Oak before he was taken to the spot where his body was discovered.

No arrests have been made in connection with the murder.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the case and is not yet releasing details about how Burr died.
