Santa Cruz police are investigating the attempted kidnapping of a 10-year-old boy Tuesday afternoon, a police spokesman said today.
The boy said he was approached as he was waiting to be picked up by his father on the corner of Moore and High streets at about 4 p.m., police spokesman Zach Friend said.
He said two men drove up to him in a van and told him to get into the car, Friend said. The boy fled and ran into a friend and his friend’s mother. He was uninjured.
The suspects were both described as white men with medium builds, brown hair and brown eyes. One may have had a tattoo on his neck, Friend said.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department at (831) 420-5820.
