Caltrain is collecting toys for children as part of its holiday toy drive through Dec. 6.
The toy drive is being conducted by the San Mateo County Transit District in replacement of the agency’s annual Holiday Train, which was suspended this year due to budget issues.
“It is our hope that the Holiday Train will be back next year, better than ever,” Holiday Train’s co-chair Christine Kwok said in a statement.
New and unwrapped toys can be dropped off through Dec. 6 at the transit district’s headquarters, located at 1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos.
The toys will be distributed by Santa along with the Salvation Army and the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program.
