Fremont police believe a 47-year-old man who was found dead in his home Monday afternoon was murdered.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, was found dead at his home in the 100 block of Sycamore Street at about 1:30 p.m. Monday. His adult son reported the death, police Sgt. Jeff Swadener said.
The cause of his death was determined in an autopsy Tuesday, but that information has not yet been released, nor has his name. Swadener said, however, that police believe the man was murdered.
“It appears he died at the hands of another,” he said.
Swadener said police are interviewing a number of witnesses, ranging from neighbors to nearby convenience store employees.
The death marks Fremont’s second homicide this year.
