Students beginning the college financial aid process will have an opportunity to partake in a free “Cash for College” workshop today in San Francisco’s Richmond District.
State Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco/San Mateo, along with financial aid experts, trained community volunteers and California Cash for College outreach staff, will co-host a workshop that will offer students and parents hands-on financial aid assistance.
The assistance will include help in completing the financial aid forms necessary to apply for Cal Grants.
The College Access Foundation of California will offer a $1,000 scholarship award to encourage high school seniors to apply for financial aid.
The workshop will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at George Washington High School, located at 600 32nd Ave., San Francisco.
