A woman who was found shot to death Tuesday afternoon in an unincorporated area of Monterey County has been identified by the coroner’s office as 31-year-old Jacqueline Coria, of Salinas.
Coria’s body was found along the south side of Main Street off of Washington Street in Chualar at about 1:50 p.m., according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy revealed she died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the coroner’s office.
Witnesses told police two young men had fired at her and then run away.
Coria had been working as an ice cream vendor in Chualar for nearly three weeks, according to the sheriff’s office.
