Firefighters are responding to a gas line rupture at a San Jose apartment complex this afternoon, a fire spokesman said.
The incident was reported at 2:46 p.m. at 2811 McKee Road, fire Capt. Chuck Rangel said.
He said there is construction taking place on site and that the line appears to have been ruptured by a backhoe.
Occupants of some of the units are being evacuated, he said.
No injuries have been reported.
