San Jose City Manager Debra Figone today appointed Chris Moore as the city’s new chief of police.
Moore is a 25-year veteran of the Police Department who served as acting police chief following former Chief Rob Davis’ retirement at the end of October.
He was one of two finalists for the job, along with Oakland police Chief Anthony Batts.
The announcement was made after the City Council confirmed Moore’s appointment in closed session this morning.
