Motorcyclist killed in Saturday night crash identified

The Monterey County coroner’s office today identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in Salinas over the weekend as Sung Kim.

The crash occurred at about 10:10 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of West Rossi Street and Coit Way, according to police.

Kim, 45, of Marina, was riding his motorcycle west on West Rossi Street when he collided with a Honda Accord driven by a 17-year-old who made an abrupt turn into Kim’s path, police said.

Kim died of his injuries on Sunday morning, according to the coroner’s office. His autopsy is scheduled for today.
