The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office today confirmed two men whose bodies were found in a home near Los Gatos on Wednesday night died as a result of a murder-suicide.
The men were found dead in their home in the 14000 block of Clara Street, north of Los Gatos, at about 8:25 p.m., according to sheriff’s Sgt. Troy Smith.
They have been identified as Imad Ed Daou, 50, and his son, Andrew Daou, 22.
Deputies recovered a .38-caliber gun next to the elder Daou, Smith said.
Andrew Daou’s Facebook page shows a smiling photo of him with his girlfriend. He was a student at the University of San Diego where he was studying business administration.
Daou attended Valley Christian High School in San Jose, and today two of his friends and former schoolmates said Andrew was motivated, easy to talk to, and someone who people looked up to as an athlete and as a friend.
“I was really shocked and upset when I heard the news about Andrew,” said Tyler Osborne. “I was really bothered as to why such a horrible thing could happen to such a great person. My prayers go out to his family who I’m sure are just devastated by his death.”
“He didn’t even know it but he taught me to cherish every day and enjoy it to its fullest because nothing is guaranteed,” said Jonathon Pereira. “I will remember that for the rest of my life.”
