A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing two men in Watsonville on Sunday.
The stabbing occurred around 1:20 a.m. in front of Jalisco Restaurant, located at 618 Main St., according to police.
Security guards at the restaurant detained the suspect, identified as Juan Carlos Medina-Reyes, until officers arrived.
Two victims, ages 27 and 31, were found on a sidewalk in front of the restaurant with stab wounds to their torso area, police said.
The guards told police the three had gotten into a fight in front of the restaurant, during which they allegedly saw Medina-Reyes stab one of the victims. They said he then tried to flee, but one of the guards shot him with a Taser and handcuffed him.
Both victims were flown to a trauma center.
Medina-Reyes was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries to his elbow and shoulder. He was to be booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on an assault with a deadly weapon charge.
