The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a San Francisco man this morning after his overheated vessel shut off near Pier 38.

The man was rescued at about 11:10 a.m. after the Coast Guard received an initial 911 call shortly before 11 a.m. involving a man on a 13-foot Boston Whaler whose engine overheated and consequently shut off, Petty Officer John Eastman said.

The man, who had been stuck in a shipping channel, did not appear to have suffered any injuries.
