A fire at a San Jose board-and-care facility this morning displaced two women and caused an estimated $100,000 in damage, a fire department spokesman said.

The one-alarm blaze was reported around 8:40 a.m. at a one-story home in the 100 block of North Eighth Street, fire Capt. Mike Willcox said.

It was under control at 9:10 a.m. The two women were displaced but no one was injured, Willcox said.

Three rooms — two bedrooms and an office — sustained moderate damage, Willcox said.

The fire appears to have started under the floorboards, but the cause is under investigation.
