Opera San Jose is inviting opera aficionados to a free preview of two pieces at San Jose’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library today.
The two operas are “Pagliacci” and “La Voix Humaine,” which regularly costs anywhere from $51 to $101, but sections will be performed for free today in celebration of “National Opera Week.”
The free previews will be performed at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library at noon. The library is located at 150 E. San Fernando St.
Prior to the performance, Opera San Jose’s general manager Larry Hancock and members of the cast will be available for interviews. Following the shows there will be a panel discussion and question-and-answer session with the director from each piece, Layna Chianakas and Cynthia Stokes.
The operas run from Nov. 12 through Nov. 27 at the California Theatre. For more information about the operas or to buy tickets, visit operasj.org.
