73-year-old woman struck by car Wednesday succumbs to injuries

A 73-year-old San Jose woman died Thursday from injuries she suffered when she was struck by a car in Milpitas on Wednesday morning.

The woman, whose name is not yet being released, was crossing an intersection in the 1300 block of Calaveras Boulevard near Carnegie Drive when she was struck by a blue 2000 Saturn at about 8:10 a.m., according to Milpitas police.

She was transported to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Thursday, police said.

The driver of the Saturn was an 18-year-old woman from Milpitas. Police said she remained at the scene following the crash.
