A kitchen fire in San Jose Tuesday afternoon displaced a family of three, a fire spokesman said.
The blaze was reported at 2:30 p.m. at an apartment complex located in the 1000 block of Walnut Woods Court, San Jose fire Capt. Anthony Melendrez said.
Firefighters responded and contained the fire to the kitchen and dining room area of the unit. The blaze was under control at 2:51 p.m., Melendrez said.
The fire damaged the kitchen and the dining room areas, but did not affect neighboring units, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross responded to provide assistance to the displaced family of three. They were not harmed in the fire.
