About 20 schoolchildren from San Jose will not only have the chance to go on a shopping spree this afternoon — they’ll get to do it in the company of several San Francisco 49ers players.
The players are participating in a “Shop with a Player” event at the Target store at 95 Holger Way.
The event, now in its fifth year, gives middle school-age children from low-income families the chance to shop for the holidays with a $300 prepaid gift card.
The kids were selected by InnVision the Way Home, an organization that provides housing and services for the homeless and at-risk families in Silicon Valley.
A team spokeswoman said this morning she did not yet know which players would participate in today’s event.
