At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision this morning on northbound Vasco Road in unincorporated Contra Costa County, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The collision was reported at 12:01 a.m. on northbound Vasco Road just south of Camino Diablo, CHP Officer Scott Cakebread said.
About five or six cars were involved in the crash, he said.
One person died and at least one other person suffered major injuries.
Both lanes of the highway will be closed until about 3:30 a.m.
