Residential fire causes estimated $290,000 in damage

A fire at a home in Petaluma on Saturday night caused an estimated $290,000 in damage, according to the fire department.

The blaze was reported at about 7:45 p.m. at a single-story home, located at 424 Casa Verde Circle, fire department officials said.

The fire was extinguished by 8 p.m.

One occupant who was home at the time sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
