The Monterey County coroner’s office today identified a man who died in a rollover crash near Pebble Beach on Sunday as 24-year-old Brian Henderson.
Henderson, of Pacific Grove, died after his car went off the roadway sometime early Sunday morning on state Highway 68 near the Morse Gate and crashed into several trees, according to coroner’s officials.
The accident was reported at about 2:15 p.m. when someone spotted the crashed car, hours after it went off the roadway.
Firefighters found Henderson’s car in the woods upside-down about 30 feet below the highway, according to Cal Fire.
His cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
