San Jose police arrested a man on Tuesday night who allegedly attempted to evade officers by kicking out a patrol car window after his ex-girlfriend reported that he had made death threats against her.
The victim called police around 8:30 p.m. and said the man had called her and threatened her, police said.
Officers responded to the home in the 1700 Block of Biscayne Way and while they were speaking with the victim, the suspect drove past the house, according to police.
When they tried to stop the suspect, he led them on a low-speed pursuit through the neighborhood before returning to the victim’s home.
There, he surrendered to officers as they placed him under arrest, but then on the way to the jail, he tried to escape from the patrol car by kicking out a window, resulting in the doorframe being bent, according to police.
The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of making criminal threats, evading police in a vehicle, vandalism, drunk driving and violating his probation.
