A pedestrian on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Redwood City was struck by a vehicle and killed this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
Emergency units responded to a report of a Mazda versus pedestrian collision on the highway just north of Woodside Expressway at about 12:25 p.m., CHP Officer Robert Haven said.
The No. 5 lane was shut down.
Details regarding the nature of the crash were not immediately available.
