The West Valley-Mission Community College District board of trustees announced that a provisional appointment will be made to fill the seat of Nick Heimlich, a former trustee who resigned in September. The provisional appointment will be in effect until the next general election in November 2016.
To qualify, candidates must at least be 18 years of age and a registered voter. Applicants must also reside within the West Valley-Mission Community College District, Trustee Area 4, which covers portions of Campbell, Santa Clara, San Jose, Saratoga, Monte Sereno and Los Gatos.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Oct. 30. The board will conduct interviews at a public meeting during the week of Nov. 9 and make the provisional appointment at its meeting on Nov. 17.
