Wine Stroll Experience is returning to Saratoga

By Khalida Sarwari

There will be a congregation of wine enthusiasts at the Wine Stroll Experience in the Saratoga Village on May 7.

The Saratoga Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event will take place from 2:30 to 6 p.m. and feature local wine and gourmet bites. Local wineries will set up tasting sites at more than 20 businesses along Big Basin Way.

Chamber president Pat Martell said she is expecting about 500 people at this year’s stroll.

“Each year the wine stroll keeps getting better,” said Martell. “Many wineries take the opportunity to showcase their best wines. It is an intimate experience to meet the winemaker and taste extraordinary wine.”

The wineries participating this year include Baccarossa, Byington Winery, Charles Usher, Clos La Chance, Comanche Cellars, Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards, Creekview Vineyard, Domaine Eden, Fernwood Cellars, Guglielmo Winery, House Family Vineyards, Kissed By An Angel, Left Bend Winery, MJA Vineyards, Roudon-Smith Winery, Ser, Silvertip Vineyards, Mountain Winery, Travesio, Villa del Monte Winery, Waxwing Wines and Wrights Station Winery.

The libations aside, attendees will also be treated to food and music. Some restaurants and tasting rooms will hand out small bites, and a few bands and musicians will help set the mood, including Whiskey Pass Neat, Matt Masih and Asher Satori. Local craftspeople will also have booths.

Tickets, priced at $40 in advance and $45 beginning May 1, come with a souvenir wine glass and a map listing the pouring station for each winery. Participants must be of legal age.
