A 59-year-old transient was arrested Saturday evening after threatening to run over deputies with his car at a shopping center in Prunedale, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance around 5:30 p.m. at the Prune Tree Shopping Center, located at 17601 Vierra Canyon Road.
Arriving deputies found Peter Borawski inside his car and apparently intoxicated, according to the sheriff’s office.
Borawski was reportedly uncooperative with deputies and threatened to run them over with his car, the sheriff’s office said. He refused to perform field sobriety tests or a preliminary alcohol-screening test. Deputies used a Taser gun to subdue Borawski.
Deputies later uncovered a switchblade knife in his car.
Borawski submitted to a blood test at Navidad Medical Center and was booked into the Monterey County jail.
