City seeks history buffs, sends surveys to seniors

By Khalida Sarwari

The city is inviting history buffs to consider applying for its heritage preservation commission.

The commission is tasked with performing duties that help preserve Saratoga’s history, from maintaining the inventory of heritage resources to making recommendations to the city council on the designation of historic landmarks, heritage trees, heritage lanes and historic districts. Applications are due Nov. 8.

In addition, city and the Saratoga Area Senior Coordinating Council recently mailed out a survey to residents 60 years and older to better understand how Saratoga can become a better place for older adults. The city will use the survey to identify and plan for the needs of older adults in the community.

To return the survey, place it in the postage-paid envelope that came with the survey and drop it in the mail. Those who didn’t get a copy of the survey are invited to complete it online at bit.ly/2aIfC9J.

Responses will remain anonymous.
