Fairfield police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a male suspected of robbing a gas station with a revolver in Fairfield Thursday.
Police received a report of an armed robbery around 9:40 p.m. at the Union 76 gas station in the 2300 block of North Texas Street.
According to police, the suspect bought bottled water and then took out the chrome revolver from his sweatshirt pocket and demanded money from the clerk. He then fled on foot westbound toward Alaska Avenue with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a black male, between 17 and 19 years old, standing at about 5 feet 2 inches and 120 pounds with braids or dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and a black dew rag.
