A bicyclist who was struck and killed in an apparent hit-and-run Tuesday morning in San Jose has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office as 39-year-old Carmen Martinez Reyes.
Martinez Reyes was found at about 6:50 a.m. on the side of the road at Zanker and Los Esteros roads in the city’s Alviso community, police Officer Jose Garcia said.
Garcia said it appears Martinez Reyes, who lived in Alviso, was hit by a car on his way to work. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers were not able to locate any witnesses at the scene.
