With the Democratic and Republican debates well under way, politics seem to be on the tip of everyone’s tongues. The League of Women Voters is giving residents a chance to meet their elected officials in a casual setting on Nov. 7 to find out what’s going on at the local level.
The program, sponsored by the league’s Southwest Santa Clara Valley chapter in conjunction with the local chapter of the American Association of University Women, will be held at the Wesley Manor, 1655 Winchester Blvd., in Campbell.
The politicians invited so far include state Sen. Jim Beall, Assemblyman Evan Low, Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian and members of the Saratoga, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and Campbell city and town councils.
The event is an opportunity for residents to meet their elected officials, speak to them face to face and ask them questions about what they’re working on, said Eileen Barnes, a spokeswoman for the league.
“Coming up on the national elections, politics is in the air,” said Barnes. “This is a chance to have face time with people that represent you in the government.”
The program takes place from 10 a.m. to noon and is free and open to all. Overflow parking will be available behind the Campbell United Methodist Church next door.
