A lockdown at an elementary school in Sunnyvale has been lifted this afternoon after a threatening call was made to the school’s office earlier today, a school district official said.
The lockdown at San Miguel Elementary was lifted at about 1:40 p.m., four hours after Sunnyvale public safety officers began searching the campus at 777 San Miguel Ave.
The search was prompted by a threatening call that the school principal received shortly after school started for the day at 8 a.m., Sunnyvale School District Assistant Superintendent Mike Gallagher said.
Throughout the search, Gallagher said the students were kept in their classrooms. No injuries were reported during the lockdown.
Parents can pick up their students between the school’s office and multi-purpose room. School staff will release the students to their parents one-by-one, Gallagher said.
Roughly 425 students attend San Miguel Elementary.
