The Santa Cruz County coroner’s office has identified a man who died in a trailer fire near Watsonville last week as Rudy Cobos.
Cobos, 54, of Watsonville, died in a fire that was reported shortly after midnight on Feb. 2 in a trailer on Hughes Road, Cal Fire officials said.
When crews from Cal Fire’s Pajaro Valley Station responded to the fire, the trailer was engulfed in flames.
Fire personnel quickly extinguished the fire and later discovered someone had died while the trailer was ablaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, fire officials said.
