A Monterey County Superior Court judge today sentenced a man to 90 days in jail for neglecting to pay more than $200,000 in child support, according to prosecutors.

Henry Reed, 51, of Marina, was sentenced to serve the time at Monterey County jail for violating his probation, which required him to pay child support, find and keep a job, and report his job search efforts to the Department of Child Support Services, according to prosecutors.

He worked as a truck driver but did not report the job, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors claim Reed owes more than $200,000 in past-due child support and interest in three different California counties.

He was placed on probation after he was convicted of failing to support his children.

Reed has previous probation violations for failing to pay support and report to child support services.

He is required to begin complying with the terms of his probation once he is released from custody.
