Montalvo to present Warmenhovens with special awards for philanthropy

The Montalvo Arts Center announced Charmaine and Dan Warmenhoven of Monte Sereno as the recipients of the 2014 Outstanding Philanthropist Award for their “exceptional generosity and visionary leadership at numerous cultural institutions throughout Silicon Valley.”

The award, from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Silicon Valley Chapter, recognizes the Warmenhovens’ passion for the arts and arts-based education that has led them to support vital initiatives, innovative exhibitions and transformational capital projects at both Montalvo and the Tech Museum of Innovation.

“Neither Charmaine nor Dan seeks the spotlight,” said Angela McConnell, Montalvo’s executive director. “Instead, they give publicly with the goal of inspiring others to give generously.”

As a member of Montalvo’s board of trustees for more than a decade, Charmaine Warmenhoven has acted in a variety of leadership roles, and along with her husband has introduced and cultivated new supporters and helped to transform the organization into a multidisciplinary arts center.

The couple will be honored on Nov. 21 at the 27th Annual Silicon Valley Philanthropy Day at the Santa Clara Convention Center. A complete list of this year’s honorees can be found at afpsv.org.
