Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered in the bushes near Palo Alto’s Stanford Hospital today.

A construction worker called 911 to report the discovery around 11:50 a.m.

The body was found slumped over in the bushes on the far east side of a construction site at 222 Quarry Road, police Sgt. Rich Bullerjahn said. The site is next to the Hoover Pavilion at Stanford Hospital.

Officers and medics determined the man did not have a pulse and had been deceased for a while, Bullerjahn said.

He could not say how long the man had been deceased, but noted that the body was not deteriorating.

Bullerjahn said detectives did not discover any signs of foul play.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office is expected to release the man’s name on Friday.
