Police release sketch of convenience store shooting suspect

San Jose police today released a sketch of a man suspected of shooting and seriously injuring a convenience store customer during a robbery last month and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The armed robbery occurred at about 7:35 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the Rancho Market located in the 500 block of North 17th Street, police said.

A man entered the store and fired at least one round, striking a 69-year old San Jose man who

was in the store. He then robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains as of today, police said.

The suspect was described as a man in his 20s who is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 120 pounds. He may have a tattoo near his left eye.
