Saratoga man dies when his motorcycle hits a tree

Albe Tremblay, a 61-year-old Saratoga resident, died when his motorcycle crashed into a tree in Saratoga in late June.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on June 25 on Cox Avenue and Saratoga Creek Drive. According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, Tremblay was riding his motorcycle westbound when he failed to negotiate a slight bend in the roadway and crashed into a tree.

“Something happened to cause him to lose control of the motorcycle,” said sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup. “He apparently kept going straight.”

Deputies attempted to resuscitate Tremblay but were unsuccessful, and emergency medical personnel eventually pronounced him dead at the scene.

Tremblay was wearing a helmet at the time, according to Stenderup.

The Sheriff Traffic Accident Reconstruction team was called to the scene to investigate but were not immediately able to determine whether speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation pending a toxicology report that should be completed in about two weeks, according to Stenderup.

The incident prompted the closure of Cox Avenue through the night, he added.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office traffic investigator at 408.868.6600.
